Rita Clancy, LCSW
Holocaust Services Program Manager/Care Manager Clinical Supervisor

“My interest in working with older adults was influenced by the positive role models of elders in my family. Working with older adults is a passion for me and I feel it’s an honor to work with a population that has so much wisdom and resilience.”

Rita is a seasoned Care Manager and licensed social worker (LCSW) who works with Holocaust survivors and their families. She specializes in counseling with older adults, families, couples, and people who have experienced trauma.  Rita has over ten years of experience in medical social work and case management. Before becoming a social worker, Rita worked in clinical laboratory and medical sciences. Rita has a Master’s Degree in Social Welfare (MSW) from UC Berkeley with a specialization in Gerontology and has been with JFCS/East Bay since 2005.

Barbi Jo Stim, MA
Care Manager

Barbi Jo is a skilled and experienced Care Manager who understands the needs of seniors and their families. She believes in providing the necessary support to help older adults who want to remain in their homes and community as they age. Barbi Jo began her geriatric work as a volunteer with the JFCS/East Bay Holocaust Survivor’s Program and was eventually hired to work as a Care Manager. In her free time, Barbi Jo volunteers on the board of Ashby Village, an innovative community that provides members with resources, referrals, and services to help them age in place. Barbi Jo Stim has a Master’s Degree in Gerontology (MA) from San Francisco State with a specialization in Care Management and has worked at JFCS/East Bay since 2009.

Sol Silverman, MSW
Care Manager

“I have an affinity for working with the elderly because they impart upon me their knowledge and experience—and that makes the work all the more rewarding.”

Sol brings a strong sense of empathy and compassion to his work whether conducting home assessments or developing comprehensive plans to provide support and resources to seniors and their families. His experience includes work as a case manager at Willowbrook Residential Community in Ben Lomond, CA, with adults and older adults with severe mental health diagnoses and an internship as a case manager for Contra Costa County Older Adult Mental Health Services. Sol has a Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from California State University East Bay with a specialization in Community Mental Health. He joined JFCS/East Bay in 2011.

Linda Diamond, MSW
Senior Housing Social Worker

“Working in the mental health system and seeing the way in which seniors were treated inspired me to find work where I could support and advocate for seniors.”

Linda Diamond works as a social worker at Villa Vasconcelos, a senior housing building in Walnut Creek. She is very knowledgeable about senior community resources and supports residents by connecting them to needed services. Prior to working at JFCS/East Bay, Linda worked at the John George Psychiatric Pavilion as a discharge planner and at the Over 60 Health Center. Linda has a Master’s Degree in Social Welfare (MSW) from UC Berkeley and has been with JFCS/East Bay since 2004.
