Older Adult Services

The Suse Moyal Center for Older Adult Services’s premier program, comprehensive care management, has helped hundreds of seniors preserve their independence and maintain their connections to a caring community. The center also offers counseling and a variety of other supportive services. SMCOAS focuses on working with family members and caregivers as well as older adults themselves, addressing physical, emotional, and financial issues in the course of developing and implementing a workable care plan. Services are offered by professional geriatric social workers, care managers, and psychotherapists all specializing in the needs of older adults and their caregiving family members. The center is located in a transport-accessible, ground-floor location in Albany.

Planning for Aging

A key to aging independently is making sure that you have a good plan in place well before intensive services are needed. JFCS/East Bay can help you evaluate your wishes and needs and determine which services will be the most appropriate for your particular situation. This may include reviewing your plans revolving around legal, financial, housing, and medical issues, so that all family members are on the same page and clear about the older person’s wishes as needs change.
