The Suse Moyal Center for Older Adult Services is located in a
transport-accessible, ground-floor location in Albany. SMCOAS
represents a new model of aging-related services, functioning as a
resource center and gathering place as well as a site for
comprehensive care management, counseling, and other supportive
services. The center aims to help older adults maintain their
independence as long as possible and strives to keep them connected
to a supportive community. The center maintains a strong focus on
working with family members and caregivers as well as older adults
themselves, addressing communication, emotional, and financial issues
in the course of developing and implementing a workable care plan.
JFCS/East Bay's geriatric social workers have years of experience with the special needs of older adults and their caregiving family members. Our dedicated staff members have an intimate understanding of a wide range of important issues, including:
-
Family dynamics and the aging process.
-
