Older Adults
Many older refugees and immigrants become extremely isolated when language problems, lack of transportation and unfamiliarity with the culture keep them stranded at home. JFCS/East Bay provides an exceptional range of services to over 750 refugee and immigrant seniors each year:

Senior social clubs and special interest groups Holiday and cultural celebrations
Case management and home visits Bilingual counseling and psychotherapy
Health workshops and consultation Bilingual adult day health partnership
Friendly visits and errands by volunteers

Connecting the Generations
JFCS/East Bay pairs younger and older community members to organize community events and work together on projects in which information on cultural heritage and history is transmitted from one generation to the next.
